Boarding<\/i><\/span>\"Horse<\/h2>\n

Sweigart Stables offers full board among 30 stalls. Stalls are cleaned six days a week and are bedded with fresh shavings three times a week. An automatic fly spray system runs during the summer months. We offer turn-out, with blanketing in winter, as well as clipping and assistance with vet and farrier visits. In addition to grain and hay twice daily, you may provide your own supplements or use our convenient SmartPak<\/a> system.<\/p>\n

We offer pasture board as well. Our pastures have run-in sheds, which are cleaned out weekly. The run-ins also have feeders which keep hay covered. Hay is unlimited during winter months, and water troughs are heated. In addition to run-ins, our pastures have plenty of mature shade trees.<\/p>\n

Regardless of your boarding preference, you can rest easy knowing the owners live on the premises to provide professional, 24\/7 care.<\/p>\n

\"Horse<\/i><\/span><\/h2>\n

Training<\/i><\/span><\/h2>\n

Training at Sweigart Stables is conducted by Brook Sweigart-Reed. Known for her commitment in treating each horse as an individual, Brook takes care to understand your horse\u2019s personality and athletic ability–and work with it. Her equitation experience also means all horses receive some education in pattern work.<\/p>\n

\"HorsebackSweigart Stables currently encompasses eight different breeds of horses and ponies, and all are equally welcome here. A strong background in Hackneys, Morgans, Saddlebreds, and Friesians lends diversity and experience in training all breeds. Full and half training is available for driving, saddle seat, hunt seat on the flat, and western. Brook enjoys and has a special talent for getting horses under saddle or in harness for the first time, and many horses have successfully transitioned into multiple disciplines under her expertise.<\/p>\n


\n\"John<\/b>Our Farrier and Vet Partners<\/i><\/span><\/h2>\n

We were fortunate to have the same farrier for over 30 years. John Haws shoed for us from the early 1980s through his passing in 2022, and his expertise and troubleshooting skills were unparalleled. For many horses in our barn, John was the only person to shoe them their entire lives.<\/p>\n

We are thankful to have Thomas Forsythe, John’s apprentice, take over from him.<\/p>\n

We use Willow Creek Equine Veterinary Service<\/a> for our vet needs. They are always available to us, 24\/7. Dr. Travis Boston and his associates handle everything from routine vaccinations and worming to performance\/sports medicine, acupuncture, and chiropractics. They also pay special attention to the unique issues of our numerous aging horses<\/a>.<\/p>\n
